Q1 To dwell in the house of the Lord is to be closed to God. To spend time with Him; reading His word, pray and walk His word constantly. Q2 To seek His face means to gaze upon His holiness and glory. How can i see a God who is holy and awesome unless i pursuit holiness and glorify His name. Q3 By God's grace, put our trusts in God and wait patiently for Him to show us the way. He will forever give us hope & lead us to eternity. These are the writer's views
1) Dwelling in the House of the Lord. When David used the word "Temple" he mean" the presence of the Lord. His greatest desire was to live in God's presence each day of His life.
Sadly,we who claimed to be His disciple hardly really desire to live in God's presence each day and not being able to enjoy that relationship with our Heavenly Father.
2)Seek the face of the Lord, it mean an "expression of devotion". To go past the veil into the holy of Holies and have a personal audience with the Lord. to have a personal desire for intimacy with the Almighty, seeking a personal hearing before the Lord Himself.
In the old testament, Moses wanted or asked to see God's face; in the end he could only catch a glimpse of His back as He passes by. If i may ask why is that so. Anyone who see God's face would die at that time. But not now. The veil is "torn" into two pieces in the temple when Jesus breath HIs last breathe as Man-God. Jesus's blood has cleansed us from all unrighteousness and we can see God face to face without reservation. I think Yap; you should extend your blog to Fah Wang & Xian Qing as i think they may be able to provide greater insights. Again, writer is basing on what i could recall from reading the bible.
Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, this blog and on-line bible study is open for all YCKGHist. I hope this platform could be a forum where we share our learning and insight.
What you mentioned in Moses case and the way the Psalter described "Your Face, Lord, I Will Seek (27:7-12)" is of two different context.
To "seek the face" of the Lord. "Seek" (baqash) comes from a root that connotes a person's earnest seeking of something or someone. Its intention is that its object be found or acquired (Deuteronomy 4:29; Jeremiah 29:13; Malachi 3:1).
The expression "seek the face of" means (of a human ruler) to seek an audience with, (of God), it means to seek his presence
I will discuss your question "in old testament one who see God's face would die at that time."

For those who read English, I found a blog that go indepth in discussing Pslm 27. You might want to take a look.
